South Shore School Leader Update
Dear South Shore families and staff,
I am pleased to announce Jershon Foyston has been selected as the acting principal of South Shore PreK-8 for the 2024-25 school year. Principal Foyston will begin his tenure on Aug. 1.
Principal Foyston brings a wealth of experience across all facets of the education setting, culminating most recently in his role as assistant principal at Meany Middle School. With a career spanning various educational roles, from instructional assistant to teacher to behavior interventionist to administrator, he has garnered deep insights into the dynamics of school management and student development.
His tenure at Meany highlighted his commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment, implementing effective educational strategies and his exceptional ability to forge meaningful relationships with the community.
SPS will begin the search for a permanent South Shore principal later this school year. At that time, SPS will share next steps with the community. Read more about the SPS school leader hiring process on our website. Until then, I am confident that Principal Foyston’ s dedication and commitment to high quality learning experiences will continue to support and guide South Shore PreK-8 School.
I also want to thank Principal Hendrickson for his leadership and service to the South Shore community!
Please join me in welcoming Principal Foyston!
Sincerely,
Dr. Brent Jones
