Weekly South Shore Community Bulletin

March 14, 2025 Community Bulletin

This week has been a great one for our school community. Our staff had the opportunity to play against the middle school boys’ and girls’ teams, and while the staff emerged victorious, the most important part was that everyone had a fantastic time.

Additionally, we experienced a Shelter-In-Place event this week, during which there was a gap in communication. Unfortunately, I was not in the building at the time of the incident, and this highlighted the need for an improved protocol for communication when the principal is not present. I want to assure you that we have since developed a clear plan to address this moving forward.

Thank you again to everyone for being a supportive and strong community. Your continued dedication and understanding are truly appreciated.

Coffee Chats with Principal

Join us every first Thursday of the month from 8:00-8:35 AM for a community chat with Principal Foyston. This is a great opportunity to connect, share thoughts, and discuss important school matters.

Ramadan Mubarak!

As we observe the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to all of our students, families, and staff who are celebrating this special time. Ramadan is a period for reflection, self-discipline, charity, and community. It offers an opportunity to cultivate kindness and compassion while strengthening connections with family and friends.

At South Shore, we embrace the diversity of our community and work together to promote understanding and respect for all cultures and beliefs. We wish everyone a peaceful and blessed Ramadan.
Ramadan Kareem!

Visitor and Volunteer Policy

All volunteers and guests in the building must sign in at the front office, wear a visitor badge, and have a scheduled appointment. Volunteers working with students will need to have completed the volunteer application, background check, and required training. Any classroom visits must be arranged with the teacher in advance. In the interest of protecting focused learning time, we will ask your student to come to the front office if you need to check in with them.
